To open a Word document in iCloud Pages, open a Finder window (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows). Drag the.docx (or.doc) file onto the iCloud Pages app in the browser. It might take a bit of time to upload to your iCloud account, depending on how big the document is. Another good choice is the iWork suite which I use all the time. Also textedit is an amazing program that works well w/ word and comes free with your mac. And while this isn't a word processor per se, OmniOUtliner is great for students and it comes free with your mac. Microsoft Word for Mac is a a word processing application first released on the Mac in 1985. It provides a powerful WYSIWYG platform with advanced features.
Install fonts
Double-click the font in the Finder, then click Install Font in the font preview window that opens. After your Mac validates the font and opens the Font Book app, the font is installed and available for use.
You can use Font Book preferences to set the default install location, which determines whether the fonts you add are available to other user accounts on your Mac.

Fonts that appear dimmed in Font Book are either disabled ('Off'), or are additional fonts available for download from Apple. To download the font, select it and choose Edit > Download.
